The Process
For this project, I started with product research and benchmarking: finding comparable alcohol alternatives with fun and interesting packaging. During this process I was starting to thing of my own target audience, who was I creating for? Eventually, I knew I wanted to market towards a younger drinking audience of 21-35 years old (roughly) who liked the taste of cocktails and the complexities of alcohol, but didn’t necessarily want or need the buzz. A moodboard, and starting a branding guidelines sheet helped me hone in on my style ideas and I began creating!
I sketched 20 logo iterations by hand, then converted the one I selected into illustrator to make a digitial version. I illustrated 2 different scenes featuring the botanical elements of each flavor can I created. One had blood oranges on the vine with elderflowers and berries throughout. The other featured limes and strawberries on the vine weaving through. I boldened my illustration style for this project and used a lot of line variation and flat colors.
